Judge Remy Smith is a New York City Housing Court Judge currently sitting in Staten Island. Remy, a native Staten Islander, was born and raised in Port Richmond and currently lives with her family in Westerleigh. She has three sons, aged 13, 15 and 21.

Remy attended Blessed Sacrament School, Wagner High School, SUNY Binghamton and she graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 2000. Remy practiced law with private law firms, handling cases from commencement to trial and appeal. In 2011, she entered the court system as Court Attorney to Supreme Court Justice Marina Mundy, then a Housing Court Judge. She was appointed to the New York City Housing Court bench in 2018 and was reappointed in 2023. She has worked in this capacity in both Brooklyn and Staten Island Housing Courts.
She currently sits on the Board of Trustees of Staten Island Academy and the Board of Trustees of Temple Israel of Staten Island. She has three sons, all of whom attend and have attended Staten Island Schools. Remy has been active in those schools as well as in other community activities. She hopes to continue to serve the North Shore community, her home over 49 years, as a Civil Court Judge for the First Municipal District.
